This explains the way an individual is able to logically thing and reason out. Jean Piaget (1896-1980), considered the Father of Cognitive Development, formed a theory to better understand cognitive development. He categorized it into having four stages, which happens at specific brackets of ages. The Sensorimotor Stage (birth-2 years old) is characterized by the development of intellectual capabilities of infants through motor activities; the Preoperational Stage (2-7 years old) is the egocentric thinking stage wherein children learn symbols as they learn to use language; the Concrete Operational Stage (7-11 years old) is distinguished by the development of operational thinking to replace egocentric thinking; and the Formal Operational Stage (11 years old-adulthood) is typified by the capacity of the individual to think rationally and logically. (more…)

Be involved in shaping the personality of youe children. Become active parents and mould your children into well-rounded and responsible individuals! Active parenting means setting goals for what you want your children to become. Do you want them to become cooperative, responsible, and courageous? If so, then parents should become more committed to their children, especially during their developmental stages. Active parenting means being keenly involved in the lives of your children and not just being an audience who watches their kids as they grow old. This could be done simply by getting an educational toy for your child and learning how to use the toy at the same time, with the parents acting as the guide. (more…)

The only difference is that they are made out of less expensive materials to make it more available to children and more affordable to parents. The toy microscope is a fully functional microscope, with downplayed magnification and parts. Here are the basic parts of a microscope that a kids microscope should have: (more…)

Motivational learning is employed by teachers to induce enthusiasm and maintain interest in their students. Parents can also use this kind of technique in their children early in the development of the child. Instead of giving incentives to your child to motivate them to learn, it is better to encourage internal motivation. This can be done by encouraging your kid to pursue his interest. Educational toys are ideal for motivational learning. Particularly, a toy microscope can help your precious one develop their scientific skills, while in the guise of fun and play. (more…)
